Records you need to have

In order to have your tax return done over the phone, there are several documents that you will need to have prepared prior to your appointment. Having these on hand will ensure your phone meeting runs smoothly and efficiently. Repeat phone calls to obtain missing documentation can incur additional fees.

 

Please have on hand the following:

 

  • Your Tax File Number.
  • Payment Summaries: please provide a payment summary from each employer or payer who has provided you with income during the financial year. The payment summary should list how much income was received, and the amount of tax withheld.
  • Financial Documents. These include:
  • Any statements from financial institutions such as building societies or banks, recording any interest earned.
  • Dividend statements from companies that have provided as such
  • If you have units in unit investment or managed investment fun, bring in your statement of earnings
  • Any buy and sell advice you may have received from a stock broker or investment advisor, if stocks were bought or sold in the financial year.
  • Receipts for deductible expenses.
  • Bank Details: for electronic funds transfer
